William Bache & Co. was formed as a niche practice in July 2005 to deal principally with matters in the Criminal and Family Courts with particular emphasis on defending parents or carers accused of causing harm to their children. Our experience in the Angela Cannings case has resulted in our being able to assist other families and individuals who have found themselves facing such allegations. Since 1999 the firm has built up a wealth of knowledge together with a large network of contacts in the various fields of medicine out of which these cases usually arise. The nature of the alleged abuse nearly always depends upon the interpretation of medical data and very frequently is concerned with issues on the cutting edge of medical science. Inevitably we find ourselves dealing with medical experts who are leaders in their field, sometimes from abroad. A high proportion of our cases merit the instruction of Queens Counsel. The complexity of the issues of both law and fact are often linked to the protracted nature of the proceedings. We are continuing the work in this field which has been built up steadily by Mr. Bache over many years. We have also represented many clients in the Family Division of the High Court and Appeal Court. Expertise in Military Law
Mr. Bache also has expertise in Military Law having represented Service personnel for over 30 years in relation to interviews under caution, Courts Martial and redress of complaint. We continue to represent clients facing criminal prosecution both in civil and military courts. We are currently representing a core participant in the Public Inquiry into the death of Baha Mousa, an Iraqi civilian who died whilst being detained by the British Army in Iraq. Many of our cases are high profile and attract media attention. We have worked with many journalists in the press and television who are anxious to scrutinise any miscarriage of justice. These contacts are vital to enable us to share with the public (when appropriate) certain aspects of our cases which are undoubtedly of public interest. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to talk about any of our legal services.
